WiFi
and 4G variant on the latest iPad has support HSPA + (21Mbps peak speed),
DC-HSDPA (42Mbps) and LTE (73Mbps). Unfortunately of the three super fast
connectivity is not useful if you want to use the IOS-style video calls,
FaceTime. This is because FaceTime can not work with 4G in new iPad.
This
is not surprising because it has always been FaceTime only works via WiFi,
unlike most other 3G devices that can be done via a 3G video call. Although the
late boss of Apple, Steve Jobs said that Apple would try to apply it to mobile
operators, but it seems this feature only works over WiFi only in an
undetermined time. Ironically, the iPad 4G Verizon sold a function of WiFi
hotspots at no additional cost, so some of the IOS device that can FaceTime
able to use 4G iPad and use FaceTime,
although this feature takes 3MB of data per minute.
