IDC: Loss of interest in the Android Developer for Fragmentation

Based on the results of a recent survey conducted IDC, Android fragmentation is still the main obstacle for developers to create applications in the most popular mobile platform. The survey was carried out to 2173, followed by the application developer 484 other developers. Developer interest is decreasing steadily.

If seen from the graph that is, the fragmentation into the factors that make the developer to reconsider to create Android applications. In the beginning programmer has similar interests to work in Android and IOS, but interest is then weakened. Only 78% of developers interested in developing applications for Android phones while 67% are interested in developing Android tablet applications. This fragmentation is even create a new category of tablet Ice Cream Sandwich.

Meanwhile, Windows Phone obtain a stronger interest. This happens because there are some interesting Windows Phone devices that are out there. It is expected to be a problem for Android in the long run if the fragmentation is still happening.

Developer interest for RIM platform, webOS, and Symbian also declined. Is directly proportional to the popularity of all three platforms that are considered no longer relevant to the development of current smartphones.
