Apple
CFO Peter Oppenheimer in Apple's earnings in first quarter 2012 iCloud
announced that his company's services has attracted 125 million users within
six months after launch. Two months ago Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that
iCloud has touched 100 million users.
This
growth could be due to the number of devices Apple sold from January to March,
with 35.1 million iPhone and 12 million iPad sold at that time. But Oppenheimer
did not say how many users iCloud which is a paid user of the majority of users
are getting a free 5GB storage. To be sure Apple will face competition from
Google's recently launched Google Drive, and of previous competitors such as
SkyDrive and DropBox.
