It
seems that HTC will follow in the footsteps of Apple and Samsung. Taiwanese
smartphone maker is reportedly working on its own processor. According to the
China Times , HTC has signed a cooperation with ST-Ericsson to develop the
chip. But unlike the high-performance CPU Samsung and Apple's flagship
smartphone, HTC processors will be entering the low-end smartphone market.
Devices
with this new chip will begin shipping sometime in 2013. HTC signaled
unhappiness with Qualcomm that supply most of the instruments. Because the HTC
assess the price that must be paid to Qualcomm processor and do not touch the
high fairly low-end market. If the HTC developed its own chip and switch to
ST-Ericsson, the cost of manufacture is said to be less expensive CPU, so it can
target devices for low-end market.
