A
new report from the World Bank said that now there are over 6 billion mobile
subscribers, but this number will soon exceed the current human population. It
is pretty crazy considering 12 years ago was not yet reached 1 billion.
Although only an estimated 75 percent of the population with mobile phones, in
many countries is not unusual if one had
more than 1 phone or more than one mobile subscription.
Between
2000 and 2010, the subscription price in the low and middle income countries
increased by 1500 percent, a remarkable achievement. The report also mentions
that in those countries young people who made these developments.
The
World Bank also said that developing countries get richer, so more and more
consumers are able to use the phone for things other than voice calls, creating
more opportunities for employment and educational opportunities.
Overall,
this study leads to the conclusion that the growth of Internet access and
downloading more applications, which in turn empowers both individual users and
improve the overall economy.
