Having
had missed some time ago that resulted in an email account and password of the
user opens, Dropbox has promised to increase security on its services, and
finally realized it, too. Dropbox has officially released a new security system
through multiple verification that claimed to be more secure and tight.
Enabling
the system is quite simple, the users need to do is go to the page on the
Dropbox security and enable two-step verification option. Once you've done
that, you will be guided through a setup wizard that will allow you to
associate your phone number with your Dropbox account. Dropbox will send a
verification code in the form of six-digit number to you anytime you try to log
in to your account. Alternatively, you can download the application authenticator
mobile devices on Android, iOS, Windows Phone or BlackBerry to make a login
code.
After
activating the two step verification system, Dropbox will give you an emergency
code that you can use when you lose access to your phone, for example when the
phone is stolen or lost. Dropbox advise you to record and store the emergency
code in the first place you think is safe.
In
addition, it is advisable to disconnect and reconnect your mobile device with a
Dropbox account. by doing the 2-step verification feature will be active on
your mobile device, so you will get a notification via email whenever there is
trying to get into your Dropbox account via mobile devices that are not listed.
Not secure enough?
