HTC
is rumored to be launching HTC X2 One-resolution 5-inch display with full HD
1080p. LG has also been showing a prototype of the screen as it was a few
months ago, and now turn to the biggest LCD maker in Taiwan, Chimei Innolux announcing
the panel. Chimei stated that the panel is designed for smartphones, although
it is 5 inches larger than the size of the average smartphone screen.
Resolution of 1920x1080 pixels in panel 5 inch screen produces density of 443
pixels per inch.
Chimei
LCD will be exhibiting at the Touch this week in Taipei Taiwan. Digitimes also
reports that they are also preparing a 9.7-inch screen with a density of 330
ppi. If the screen uses an aspect ratio of 4:3, then the resolution will reach
2560x1920 pixels, enough to give the advantage over 264 ppi screen Retina
Display on the iPad 3 (2048x1536 pixels). It seems that we will continue to see
the war for high resolution screens of mobile devices, but if your eyes are
sharp enough to see the difference?
