As usual, every end of the year Apple always took a few days each year to shut down the iTunes Connect service as part of their maintenance and holiday preparations. It is worth noting, iTunes Connect service is not a regular service to enjoy as users end-user.
ITunes Connect service is a service provided by Apple to the developer to manage the administration of their applications in the App Store portal. In the last year (2011) alone, iTunes Connect shut down from December 22 until December 29. Whereas this year, iTunes Connect will be switched off on March 21 through December 28 next.
What happens when service is turned off by Apple's iTunes Connect?
1. There will be no new application published in the App Store.
2. There will be no updates for the applications that are currently already in the App Store catalog.
3. Users can still download applications already in the App Store.
4. Applications are scheduled release date, will appear in the App Store catalog with details of scheduling the release date.
