Samsung offers many gesture-based features (cues) in their latest smartphone. One of them is Smart Stay and Smart Pause that utilize gesture or movement of the user's eyes. Through the new patent, Samsung seems to be another gesture to add features that take advantage of head movement.
In a filing patent applications at the European Patent Application published on Wednesday (Jan 8 ,2014) last week, this recording features visible head motion to implement certain functions. For example, the phone screen will re-display the last visited web page if it detects movement of the head to the left, and to the next page if the detected moving head to the right.
Method detection is done by dividing the image captured by the camera. There are several sections or certain angles observed that the camera will then carry out a specific function.
This patent application has been filed true since July 2013 and it's unveiled to public in last week. A number of parties argued the possibility of this feature will be implemented next Samsung flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5.
