Since the PlayStation Vita was released in December 2011 and February 2012 in Japan and in America, there have been 31 cases in which Sony's new portable console is on fire when you're doing recharge. Of the 31 cases reported by Sony. There're 23 cases occurred in Japan, and 8 others occur in the U.S., UK and Australia.

According to Japanese newspaper, Yomiuri, Japan's government to intervene to check the burning of the PS Vita this case. In all cases, the problem is the connection between the charger plug with Vita PS unit.

The Sony has denied that this issue is a defect in the product, they informed the Yomiuri that this problem occurs purely due to the negligence of the user. They believe that the damage is nothing to do with the liquid or other objects that are close to the PlayStation Vita connector of the cable causing a short-circuit and catch fire. Besides the Sony warned that users ensure that the PS logo on the connector facing upwards when the Charger is used to recharge the battery. Curiously, why this charger connector can be mounted upside down?

To date there are no reports of casualties from the burning of the cases the PlayStation Vita. But of course the user who becomes the victim would be materially harmed, because the cost of their portable console repairs.
