Manufacturer company of DRAM and NAND Flash products Adata has announced the release of version SSD (Solid State Drive) that is thinner and lighter. With a thickness of only 7mm, this SSD model is suitable for laptops with thin design and Ultrabook computers , as well as the application on another machine.
Standard thickness for hard-disk-size 2.5mm is 9.5mm. And now the trend is more toward the computer market with slim, lightweight design that directly force also reduced the size of the components, especially the hard-disk usually takes place. Latest SSD Adata having a thickness of 7mm obviously have size 2.5mm thinner, but without any sacrifice of speed, capacity, or durability. The new SSD also comes with a 2.5mm casing so it can still be used in hard-disk slot standard 9.5mm size.
No information about the price difference between 9.5mm and 7.5mm SSD. Thin SSD is expected to start getting into the market before the middle of this year.
