Nokia reportedly is working on a phone with the latest technology that is claimed to be able to make a phone can survive in standby without needing to be recharged within forever.
This is possible because Nokia tipped to use an ultra-wide band antenna that can capture frequencies ranging from 500 MHz to 10 GHz. This antenna able to capture a variety of signals, ranging from TV signals, radio signals, and cell phone signals. Interestingly, the energy contained in the captured signal is not used for data transmission, but is converted into electrical energy for use by the mobile phone.
Currently, the researchers claimed to have only managed to convert those signals into a 5 milliwatt power alone. But in the near future are planned so that the signal can be converted into a 20 milliwatt power. Power is claimed to be sufficient to supply power to the phone is in standby mode, so it does not need to be recharged forever. As long as the signal is still bersliweran in the air.
Even the researchers claimed to have a long-term targets, which increase the yield to 50 milliwatt power changes. That much power would be enough to charge the phone battery slowly. So that might be in the future, we will not need to charge the phone by way of plug it into the charger or put it on the wireless charger.
Mobile phones with the technology itself is claimed to be able to be on the market within the next 3-5 years.
